~ Adelaide A. Pollard wrote the beloved hymn text (Have Thine Own Way, Lord) in 1902, after trying and failing to raise money for missionary work in Africa. Her heart was for missions, but God showed her that He had other plans for her. Instead of questioning God's will, she wrote the lyrics we now know and love.
~ This is an original arrangement by Bethany K. Street. The melody in the verses was written to highlight the beauty of Pollard's lyrics. The chorus is original and contains an small excerpt from Galatians 2:20.
~ This song was written for choir and piano, but would also fit a small ensemble really well.
