Have you ever wondered how those wonderful spanish artisanal textiles you often see in Latin American countries are made? To answer the question of what is the weaving process in textiles, we created an Oaxacan documentary at a weaving factory that uses historical fly shuttle weaving machines called Telares Oaxaqueños Textilarte in La Crucecita. You can locate it here: http://bit.ly/TextileFactoryMexicoMap If you're staying at Secrets Huatulco Resort and Spa like we did, it's a short ten minute drive.
After getting some instruction on the textile manufacturing process, trying our hands at the weaving machines and attempting to create our own fabric designs, we opt to buy a few of the stunning unique mexican fabrics on display in the store. It seemed simple at first, but fabric weaving is truly an art that takes a lifestime to master.
