One late summer evening, I was driving on the road from Brennero to Innsbruck. At the Brenner Pass, we enter the Tyrolean Wipptal, which has long been one of the most important north-south traffic routes through the Alps due to the low elevation of the Brenner Pass.
Until the opening of the Brenner Autobahn A13, whose course can often be seen from the route, this road was the main connection from Innsbruck to the Brenner Pass. Unlike the heavily trafficked Autobahn A13, the Brenner road is somewhat quieter. This is also due to the fact that trucks are not allowed to drive here.
