The Hang Playing Hedge Monkeys are Daniel Waples and Danny Cudd.
They had met in the year 2006 at a music festival in England and instantly formed a friendship and began to play djembe (african drum) together…
Soon after, during conversation they realised that they had both already been invited to Switzerland to collect their Hangs from PanArt. At this time the hang was very unknown.
That winter they arrived to India with their new hang, and began to perform under the name ‘Hang Playing Hedge Monkeys.’
This album, Vesica Piscis was one of the first hang duo albums ever recorded and released and demonstrated a style that would continue on throughout the following years. The album features compositions from both Daniel and Danny as well as great production and playing from Russian friend Vasily Dubov. The combination of beautiful world instrumentation and hang grooves results in a relaxing and inspiring journey.
