Today I'm taking the first steps to try to turn this ugly trident maple into a believable broom style bonsai. The nebari on this tree is not great, nor does it have much movement. What it does have is two straight-as-an-arrow leaders at the top of an ugly chop. Can we do anything with it? Will it work? We'll see in a year or two.
