Due to the lack of long staff forms in the Cheng School Gao Style Bagua (程派高式八卦) system, Sifu Wei-Chung Lin (林維中) modified the staff form passed down by the late Master Chen Pan Ling (陳泮嶺) and included it in the CTMAA curriculum. In the demonstration, only one side (clockwise or counterclockwise) of each of the eight sequences is shown.
Although only two kinds of weapons are shown in the applications, the movements are in general applicable to other short or long weapons.
Sifu Lin is a 2nd generation disciple of the YiZungYue (易宗岳) School. He is also the chief instructor of the Chinese Taoist Martial Arts Association (ctmaa.com )in Skokie (a northern suburb of Chicago) Illinois and the president of the American YiZungYue Internal Martial Arts Association (americanyzy.com).
