Описание: A VHS tape containing two programs:
1. Coverage of the 1994 Tropical Storm Alberto, mainly focusing on net losses and property damage. Video produced by Factory Mutual Engineering Corporation.
2. Telling the story of how NIKE subsidiary Tetra Plastics handled the Great Flood of 1993 from the perspective of an employee in a group that stayed in the building until they had to be rescued. Starts at 11:31 in the video.

The Tetra Plastics Great Flood of 1993 jumps around sometimes sync wise, especially during the intro card - this was an error from whoever originally produced the video as it is just as present (if not worse) in the corresponding conventional capture I did.

Upscaled to 4K for YouTube using Lanczos4Resize, deinterlaced with QTGMC, and denoised using MCTemporalDenoise, all within StaxRip. I do not claim to be well versed in the artform of analog media encoding, so I encourage anyone who knows better to give it a try themselves using the RF samples on the archive.org page: archive.org/details/1994stormalberto_1993stlouisflood

Rest of description is a direct paste from archive.org page:

Both of these programs fluctuate pretty intensely in terms of black-level SNR, and the jittering of most camera footage suggests that much of it is 2nd-generation VHS media. Almost wondering if I should've added --use_saved_levels to the decode process..
Whatever the case, it's currently unknown who or where this tape would have been distributed to - the noisy, muffled mono VHS Hi-Fi track coupled with unstable 2nd-generation recordings suggests this was a low production video.

The MKV included is an FFV1 interlaced copy with three audio tracks:
1. Demodulated VHS Hi-Fi audio from VCR used (certain voice samples were clipping and had to be de-clipped in post)
2. Decoded VHS Hi-Fi from hifi-decode
3. Mono (linear) tape audio from VCR (EQed and resampled to remove some high frequency noise outside of the actual audio)

This archive includes the FM RF copies of the analogue format (VHS). The media was captured with two modified VTImage capture cards (CXADC) at 40MSPS for the video signal, and 10MSPS for the VHS Hi-Fi audio.
This is the original signal off of the medium before processing past initial signal tracking and pre-amplification - a raw master digital copy or medium transfer.

Capture hardware used: 2x VTImage capture cards (CXADC) sampling at 40MSPS, overclocked via github.com/namazso/cxadc-clockgen-mod
VCR & Tap setup used: Samsung DVD-VR375, TP3 (ENV) for video FM RF, pin 33 from LA72670 for VHS Hi-Fi FM RF, pin 10 (C349) from LA71207M for mono/linear tape audio
TV System & Tape Format: NTSC, VHS SP
Commands used to decode the FFV1 archive provided:
vhs-decode --debug --ntsc --threads 8 --tape_format VHS --recheck_phase
hifi-decode -t 8 -n --debug --auto_fine_tune on --gain 0.8 -f 10

Version of decode used at the time: 26a7fc9

Runtime: 00:35:35:566

Audio: Yes

Included in this archive is the RF information, exported FFV1 video file, and commands used with vhs-decode as well as hifi-decode.

A de-interlaced 59.94p x264 MKV is included for streaming purposes, and was done so using QTGMC via StaxRip.

Please visit the vhs-decode GitHub page if you wish to obtain newer versions of the decoders, other tools and more information past what is presented here.
