Red Ribbon was replaced by Apostille in May 9, 2019. However, many people still refer the document authentication as Red Ribbon instead of Apostille. On March 9, 2021, the online Apostille Appointment and Verification System was launched. Through this, people can make an online appointment to authenticate their documents in selected DFA Offices.

The online appointment (as of publishing date) are only offered to selected DFA branches. DFA-Aseana; DFA Consular Office (CO) Northeast (Ali Mall, Cubao); CO East (SM Megamall); CO West (SM Manila); CO South (Metro Gaisano, Alabang); CO San Fernando, Pampanga; CO Davao (SM Davao); CO Iloilo; and CO Cebu (Pacific Mall-Metro Mandaue).
