The New Face of Enugu Tourism: Landmark’s Masterplan for Nike Lake Resort Enugu.

Описание: The landmark partnership between the Enugu State Government and Landmark Africa Group, announced on January 16, 2025, has launched a 35-year public–private lease of the iconic 150‑hectare Nike Lake Resort. Under the agreement, Enugu provided the resort as an asset while Landmark Africa committed an initial ₦10 billion investment to restore it to its original grandeur. The deal aims to attract up to two million visitors annually, create thousands of jobs, and boost the state’s internally generated revenue . Landmark’s CEO, Paul Onwuanibe, emphasized Enugu’s immense tourism potential and pledged to redevelop the resort into a world-class leisure, convention, and hospitality hub .

Renovations are well underway, with interior upgrades, spatial redesigns, and improved infrastructure already reaching over 50% completion in phase one . Plans for development include hotel rooms, waterfront villas, beach lounges, a children’s park, golf course, and various recreational facilities to transform Nike Lake into a go-to destination for both local and international tourists . The Enugu government is also supporting the project by upgrading surrounding infrastructure, such as the Enugu–Opi–Nsukka Road, demonstrating its commitment to enhancing the region’s appeal and accessibility .
