In this video, we’re going to cover the eight benefits of alpha-lipoic acid. Alpha-lipoic acid (ALA) is a fat that shouldn’t be confused with alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), which is an omega-3 fatty acid. Alpha-lipoic acid has a lot of very interesting properties. 

Benefits of alpha-lipoic acid:

1. Powerful antioxidant 
When you’re exposed to various things, you get free-radicals that can damage your DNA, cellular membranes, and mitochondria. Alpha-lipoic acid could help protect you from that. 

2. Glucose sensitizer 
Alpha-lipoic acid could help normalize glucose levels. 

3. Insulin sensitizer
Alpha-lipoic acid could help normalize insulin levels. 

4. Increases glutathione 
Glutathione is a powerful antioxidant that your body can make in the liver. It’s known as the master antioxidant. 

5. Inhibits cancer
It may inhibit certain types of cancer. 

6. Helps with autonomic neuropathy
