Black Tech Link’s BIPOC Coastal Research Program is a fully funded, hands-on marine science training program built for underrepresented college students in Southern California.
This 12-week spring intensive puts students directly in the field. Real coastal research. Real data. Real skills. Participants earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification, learn GIS data visualization, and develop practical field research experience that prepares them for careers in marine biology, environmental science, and oceanography.

• What: 12-week mentorship and field training intensive
• Who: 14 regional college students from underrepresented backgrounds
• When: February 3 to May 28, 2026
• Schedule: Fridays and Saturdays
• Cost: Fully funded. Equipment, training, and PADI certification included
