Direct casting involves the use of organic materials to produce interesting shapes. Essentially, the molten metal is poured into materials such as dry pasta and beans and occupies the negative space between the various items. You can also drop molten metal into water to produce some beautiful shapes. The trick is to experiment with various containers and water levels. This video will show your step-by-step how to work safely and produce some very interesting results.
