Part 2 of our trip south sees us departing Blackbushe Airport after collecting our passenger, before turning our attention towards the Channel Islands.

On departure we’re quickly eyes-out, scanning for conflicting traffic — easily identified and comfortably avoided — before climbing out and routing towards the south coast. We cross Farnborough Airport airspace, continuing the climb through FL100 and levelling at FL130 in glorious blue-sky conditions.

It’s one of those perfect aviation days: crystal-clear visibility, smooth air, and the kind of horizon that reminds you why we do this.

From there it’s an effortless cruise southbound across the water towards Guernsey, the smaller of the two main Channel Islands, where the flying conference awaits.
