I wish they added the reprise of If Only in the second movie, feels like it would fit perfectly in that moment. Especially since Mal was going through so much in the second movie, this song would really just allow us to know how she was feeling. I keep on saying this on all my Descendants post but the second one really was the best. The third one really did let me down, and it’s not like it had the best songs to make up for it. I guess they just ran out of ideas by the third one but really wanted to make a third movie. Reminds me of The Cheetah Girls, except with TCG, Raven wasn’t in the third movie so it was understandable. But there really was no excuse for why Descendants wasn’t as good. Especially with the premise of the movie, there were so many things they could have done. When I start my YouTube Channel, I’m definitely going to be talking about how I would write Descendants 3. Because that is a topic I just can’t get over as you guys can see. One of the things I would want is a bigger focus on the side characters. By the end of Descendants 2, Mal already had a perfect development, why make it feel like the Mal movie when every character needed closure. Specifically for Jay and Carlos, they barely did anything in the third movie. Even though it has always been Mal, Evie, Jay, and Carlos, so I don’t understand why they were pushed aside. At least in Descendants 2 they had their B Plot where Carlos was trying to ask out Jane and Jay was helping Lonnie. They sorta had that in D3 but their “storylines” were so insignificant tbh
