I had an old receiver on my NRL22 rifle. I was connecting together a KIDD bold and barrel. Tack driver.
Then I went to shoot over 100 yards, no joy. I had a 30 MOA rail and could not dial up much at all. Put on an MDT 50 MOA rail - it got me up to 14.1 on an Arken EP-5 Gen II that has 32 MRAD of elevation.
After consulting with Cyclops Joe and Rimfire SS it was pretty obvious, unless the scope had a problem, it was droop. Couldn't see anything - it looked ok, but it was not going to easily shoot long gong.
In the interim I was able to acquire a KIDD receiver with some birthday money and switched out the old OEM receiver. On the rifle that would only dial up to 14.1 on an MDT 50 MOA rail, with a tight fitting KIDD barrel and receiver I can now dial up to 28.4 with a zero at 50.
So I needed to use the old OEM receiver to mount the Feddersen barrel to put this thing on my ATV. This is what we did to create a tighter fit, less droop - evidenced by the dial up vs. down.
Soda can was too thick so a pack of cheap feeler gauges from the auto parts shop and here we go....
