I didn't think I was going to get this video done. I started working on this video on May 21st and it was a beast to film and an even bigger beast to edit but it is done!
When I tell you that the inner 8 year old in me is jumping for joy over this dress. When I was a kid I loved looking at the art book my great grand mother had of impressionist paintings and wished I could dress up in all of those beautiful dresses and now I have one of my very own that I made myself! It took me a while to get the fit right and a few arguments with other costumers whether or not Victorian women could lift their arms. I may create a video in August about these misconceptions because in my arguments I did a crap ton of research on this topic.
I used three Truly Victorian Patterns: TV400, TV303, TV201 and I would totally recommend them. The instructions on these Truly Victorian patterns are wonderful. The bodice had a lot of helpful tips on how to get a good fit for any size.
The costuming picnic was so much fun even if it was a little sweltery outside. And thank you so much to @DixieDIY for helping me film my reveal video when she noticed how much I was struggling by myself.
