We Indians love our cars so much and once we decide to buy a car either it is New or Old, everyone from family and friends become part of the process. It becomes a festival kinda atmosphere around us and that is the reason that everyone starts loving their cars with all their heart. 
Then the time comes when everyone has to decide one fine day to give their cars for scrap or dismantle after the over lapsing the time span given on RC of car. That Time span is different for some states but as standard it is 15 years in most of the states but as per recent orders Delhi and its nearby areas of other states will have only 10 years validity for Diesel Cars in that case all owners will have to scrap their cars early. 

The second reason to scrap a car is when your car met with an accident and got total loss or your car's engine failed. Recently we also faced such an issue with one of our cars whose engine stopped working and we had to scrap our car. Which made us Write this Blog on this matter and also we made one Video for our Youtube channel - Car Quest which is also attached with this Blog too. 
So, the first thing to care of before giving your car for scrap is that the Scrapper is of your known or find a scrapper who is authorised by authorities only and negotiate with them as per the model of your car i.e. our car was a top model so we asked for much higher rates as the scrapper can sell all the material from in the open market like Alloys, window and front glass, push button start unit, steering and its column and many more.
Once the negotiation is done and you fix the rates then documentation is the main part and also the most difficult part to complete.
The First thing is that the original RC should be with you only (Do not handover the RC or its copy to the scrapper)Two ID Proof (Aadhar Card & Pan Card) and the LetterHead with Stamp and sign of the scrapper and his registered firm. The chassis Plate (Silver Colour) placed in the bonnet by the manufacturer. The main chassis part to be cut where the chassis number is embedded.Both Number plates to be removed. You can also ask for the video of your cars dismantling and crushing. And the last part is to deregister your RC from the authority.   If your car is in running position and its RC validity finished in that case you must take care of all above said points because your car can be used for any illegal purposes or while driving on road someone can meet with an accident unfortunately.
