300 feet road update current situation purbachal 300 feet road & Dhaka Elevated expressway. The government is constructing a 300 feet wide and 12.5 kilometres long expressway from Kuril flyover to Kanchan Bridge to connect Purbachal New Town with Dhaka city. The construction of the 14-lane road is nearing its end with the completion of works on bridges, culverts, underpasses, overpasses and a 100 feet wide canal.
The main road from Kuril to Kanchan Bridge will be eight lane. Two canals of 100 feet on both sides. There are service roads on both sides of both canals. The service road will also have multiple lanes. Beyond that, there are gateways to connect from different residential areas.
In addition to the army's own manpower and technology, the project has been outsourced to some private construction companies. Excavation of 100 feet canal on both sides of the road from Kuril to Balu river and for the purpose of development, earth excavation, removal of mud soil and soil filling have been done as necessary. Sluice gates are also being constructed.
The Capital Development Authority is trying to complete the rest of the work vigorously so that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina can inaugurate it by next December. But it is known that the road will be demolished immediately after the inauguration. Because the pole or span of the metro rail will sit right in the middle of that road.
