This week we return to Jervis Bay for our second attempt at swimming with humpback whales.
We camp at the beautiful Hidden Creek Campground, paddle down the river, and deal with a truck breakdown that tests our patience — but also reminds us how quickly plans can change on the road.
Out on the water we’re surrounded by humpback whales, watching them surface, breach and pass by… yet once again, we don’t make it into the water with them.
Instead, nature offers us something different — an unexpected swim with playful seals, quiet moments of awe, and a reminder that not every bucket-list experience unfolds the way we imagine.
This journey is about trusting the timing, surrendering control, and finding magic in the moments that can’t be planned.
