A humanitarian crisis is unfolding aboard the hijacked vessel MT Honour 25, where 17 crew members, including 10 Pakistani nationals, have been held hostage by Somali pirates for nearly two months. A newly surfaced video from the ship reveals worsening conditions, with crew members reporting severe shortages of food and clean drinking water.

According to the vessel's second officer, Syed Kashif Umar, several hostages have become ill after being forced to consume contaminated water. In an emotional appeal, he called on Pakistan's Prime Minister and military leadership to intervene immediately and pressure the ship's chartering company to engage directly with the hijackers.
The vessel was seized near Somalia's Puntland region on April 21 and remains anchored off the coast. Negotiations have reportedly stalled despite mediation efforts, with pirates demanding a multimillion-dollar ransom. The incident has renewed concerns over a resurgence of piracy in the Indian Ocean and East African waters.
Meanwhile, families of the hostages say they are running out of hope and have warned of hunger strikes if authorities fail to take urgent action. As the crisis deepens, attention is focused on diplomatic efforts to secure the crew's safe release before conditions deteriorate further.
