1987年発表、TM NETWORK「8月の長い夜」を
本場ブラジルのボサノバ奏法で、アンプラグド・アレンジとして再構築しています。

舞台は、リオ・イパネマのビーチサイドにある小さなバー。
波音、夜風、やわらかな灯りの中で、
ささやくような歌声とナイロン弦ギターのバチーダが、
夏の終わりに残る感情を静かにすくい上げます。

本作では、
・原曲のメロディと譜割りを可能な限り尊重すること
・過度なジャズ化／ポップ化を避けること
・伝統的ボサノバのリズムと歌唱法を保つこと
を意識して制作しましたが、その両立は非常に難しい試みでもありました。

「都会的で切ない80年代J-POP」を、
夜のリオの空気にそっと置き換える、
そんなイメージを軸にしています。

映像は、実際のアンプラグド演奏シーンをモチーフに、
80年代日本アニメのタッチで再構築。
音と視覚の両面から
「もし別の世界線で再生されたら？」を描きました。

Artificial JPop Archive は、
日本のポップミュージックを
「もし今、別の文化・別の時代・別の場所で鳴っていたら？」
という視点で再解釈・記録していくプロジェクトです。

This cover was created in response to a request from a viewer.

“8-gatsu no Nagai Yoru” (1987) by TM NETWORK is reinterpreted here as an unplugged, authentic Brazilian bossa nova arrangement.

The setting is a small beachside bar in Ipanema, Rio de Janeiro.
With the sound of waves, night breeze, and warm lights,
a soft, whisper-like vocal and nylon-string guitar batida gently capture the lingering emotions of a late summer night.

In this project, we aimed to:
• Respect the original melody and phrasing as much as possible
• Avoid excessive jazz or pop reinterpretation
• Preserve traditional bossa nova rhythm and vocal approach

Balancing these elements proved to be a challenging but meaningful process.

The concept is to place the “urban and bittersweet 1980s Japanese pop” sound into the atmosphere of a quiet night in Rio.

The visuals are inspired by real unplugged live performances and reconstructed in an 1980s Japanese anime style, exploring the idea of
“What if this song existed in a different world line?”
