This Strat Repair Was a Disaster… So I Fixed It

Описание: This Fender Hardtail Stratocaster came in after a very questionable previous repair. The fretboard finish, fretwork and nut were done poorly – so the neck had to be completely reworked.

In this video I fix the problems and bring the neck back to proper playing condition.

The repair includes:
– removing the old lacquer from the maple fretboard
– correcting the fretboard geometry
– reshaping it into a compound radius (7.25 → 9.5)
– refinishing and relacquering the fretboard
– repairing the damaged nut area
– making and installing a new bone nut
– fretwork and final setup

The guitar keeps its vintage character, but the move from 7.25 to 9.5 radius makes a noticeable improvement in playability.

There were also a few unexpected moments along the way – including a lacquer run and even a small blackout in the workshop.
