Porsche 718 GTS 4.0 and 981 Cayman explore Virginia 16 – The Back of the Dragon - which is as winding than the famous TN 129 - Tail of the Dragon, with more elevation gain and loss and much longer at over 30 miles.

The 911 provided footage that I hope people will learn from. Spirited driving, especially on an unfamiliar road can obviously go wrong. I hope the video illustrates a risk you may not have considered – the risk that you won’t see or realize where the road is going until it is too late. What looked like a straight was instead a sharp left hairpin turn, and what looked like tarmac was instead the gravel that lead to the scene of the accident.

We are on a mission to show you the best backroads, and sometimes get comments asking us to push; that the footage looks slow or casual. There is a line that you can approach and exceed on a track that you shouldn’t on the street. In the case of the 911, the cost of crossing the line was the car and a few cameras but it could have been much worse. Be safe out there.

Several have commented that they want to see longer reviews that show more of the road, so I’m hoping that you will watch to the end to make the algorithm happy!
