(6 Sep 2017) When Christi Reeves' home and car flooded from the rain brought on by Hurricane Harvey, she and her family — her husband and their three children — lost everything.
For the past nine days, Reeves says she's been surprised by how many people - all strangers - have helped during her darkest moments. And there have been many.
First a team of firefighters tried to revive the family's dog after he experienced heat exhaustion; the dog later died. And then a group of people helped clean out her soggy home in preparation for rebuilding.
On Tuesday, Reeves stopped by the Harvey Relief Hub to pick out donated linens and other necessities. These donations, she says, will help the family as they work to get back on their feet.
