In this video, I build a small handmade trout crankbait from wood and test it in the water to see how the refinements affect the action.
This one-piece lure is designed as a compact crank/jerk bait for trout fishing. After adjusting balance and weighting from a previous version, I wanted to see if the swimming action improved.
From shaping and weighting to lip installation, painting, and on-water testing, this video shows the full process of refining a custom wooden trout lure.
Even though the lure performed well in testing, I’m still chasing perfection and will continue refining the design.
