Using only 5 ingredients – rum, lime juice, simple syrup, mint and soda water – The Wine Sisters' Chief Sommelier, Erin Henderson, shows us how easy it is to whip up a classic mojito for any occasion.

Erin first learned this classic mojito recipe nearly 15 years ago. Working at a restaurant, the summer mojito bar was always a hit for parties. Butttt... making 300 individual mojitos a night, was not the most efficient way to serve a crowd. And all that muddling could be considered cruel and unusual punishment for the poor bartender, who was left with carpal tunnel syndrome at the end of the night! 😂

Hence, we created a far simpler, much easier, and just as delicious pitcher mojito for our parties! Using simple sugar instead of granulated sugar, and lime juice instead of squeezing the full limes cuts down on the work and the hassle, so hosts can enjoy their party, too.

And best of all, you make can this pitcher mojito hours ahead of your party and keep in the fridge until you're ready, just topping it up with seltzer or soda water before serving.

🍹To make this pitcher mojito recipe:🍹

2 cups white rum
1 cup simple syrup
3/4 cup fresh lime juice
2-3 juicy limes quartered
1/2 cup fresh mint leaves
2 cups seltzer or soda water (Erin used lime flavoured in the video, but plain is just fine)

Into your pitcher, pour in the simple syrup, lime juice and a few wedges of lime.
Muddle (use a proper muddler, or the handle of a rolling pin) until the lime wedges are soft and "mushed up."
Add in the mint sprigs, and gently crush those up with muddler to release the oils and fragrance.
Now pour in your rum and stir to combine.
If serving right away, add your soda/seltzer water, if not, put the pitcher in the fridge until you are ready to serve, and top with seltzer à la minute.
Pour into ice filled glasses, garnish with a wedge of lime and fresh mint and enjoy!
