Other Voices are a Christchurch New Zealand post-punk and indie covers band.
The four musicians are Penny Cain on Vocals/guitar/keyboards, Linda on Bass, Nick Ford on Guitar/keyboards and Wade Byers on Drums/samples.
I did enjoy their "Post Punk Showcase" and here is John Lydon's post Sex Pistols band, Public Image Ltd (PIL) cover, 'Public Image". I had the pleasure of hitching ride from Sydney in 1984 (with unknown punks, where are you now?) to Melbourne just to see PIL live! Apart from having my head kicked in by Skinheads while I was fighting to get my camera back, PIL was soo good! Sharing this as I will post those pics sometime on my Facebook page.
This less than 3 minutes of brilliant post-punk blasts off with the unmistakable sound of Lindas bass with Wades drums, then Pennys repeated "hello" and suddenly Nicks guitar from another world. A great tribute to PIL's guitarist Keith Levene (RIP). Then Lydon's iconic opening words "You never listen to a word that I said, you only see me for the clothes that I wear, or did the interest go so much deeper it must have been the colour of my hair, Public Image."
This 'post punk' song but with the attitude and essence of punk was PIL's debut in October 1978. It was written while Lydon was still a member of the Sex Pistols. Its Lydons message of being exploited by his then manager Malcolm McLaren. The single was well received and reached number 9 on the UK Singles Chart, and the import charted in the US.

Lyrics of 'Public Image':
Hello, hello, hello, hello
Hello, hello
You never listen to a word that I said
You only see me for the clothes that I wear
Or did the interest go so much deeper?
It must have been the colour of my hair
The Public Image
Oh, what you wanted was never made clear
Behind the image was ignorance and fear
You hide behind this public machine
Still follow same old scheme
Public image
Two sides to every story
Somebody had to stop me
I'm not the same as when I began
I will not be treated as property
Public Image
Two sides to every story
Somebody had to stop me
I'm not the same as when I began
It's not a game of monopoly
Public image
Public image, you got what you wanted
The public image belongs to me
It's my entrance, my own creation
My grand finale, my goodbye
Public image
Public image
Goodbye
