The clip begins with an M18 "Hellcat," possibly of the 603rd Tank Destroyer Battalion, directing fire at "Siegfried Line" / Westwall pillboxes in the Bitburg-Prüm area. The footage continues with Troopers of the 6th Cavalry Group ("Unicorn Rampant," note the patches) preparing for and conducting a patrol to clear bunkers in the area. At this time, the 6th Armored Division, 6th Cavalry Group, and 603rd Tank Destroyer Battalion were part of a US Third Army team working in tandem to penetrate defenses of the "Siegfried Line" in the Berscheid area, just over the Our River into Germany. Filmed on our about February 23, 1945.
