Pour-over Mofawar | Yemeni-style Coffee

Welcome to our kitchen! In this video, we’ll be showing you how to make a delicious pour over Yemeni coffee, also known as Mofawar. This aromatic coffee is made using dark roast coffee beans, ground cardamom pods, and a splash of half & half. For those who prefer a more traditional taste, you can add sugar, but we’re keeping it unsweetened. Enjoy the process!
Ingredients:
40g dark roast coffee beans
30 fl oz / 900 ml filtered water
2g ground cardamom pods
A splash of half & half
Sugar to taste (we didn't, but it is traditional to add sugar)
Instructions:
Grind 40g of dark roast coffee beans to a medium-coarse consistency.
Boil water to 90-92 Fahrenheit / 30-32 Celsius
Place a filter in your pour over dripper and rinse it with hot water.
Add the ground coffee to the dripper, then sprinkle the ground cardamom pods evenly over the coffee.
Slowly pour the hot water (about 5 fl oz / 150 ml) over the coffee grounds in a circular motion, allowing the coffee to bloom for about 30 seconds.
Continue pouring the water in the same motion until you’ve used the rest -- about 2 minutes.
Once brewed, add a splash of half & half to the coffee.
Stir and enjoy your aromatic Yemeni Mofawar coffee!
