Often referred to as "Trench Art," these lighters were typically hand-crafted by soldiers during WWII using spent ammunition casings and scrap metal. When I found this item, it was in poor condition—heavily corroded, the mechanism was seized, and the brass was hidden under layers of dark oxidation.
