Julian Wilson took a sabbatical from the Championship tour in June 2021. He entered the 2025 Gold Coast Pro trials last week, won them and then steamrolled through the draw, right through to the final and almost took it out from a rampant Filipe Toledo. The commentary during the event centred on wondering how Julian would go, can he still surf at this level? He answered that pretty comprehensively with his surfing.
