From a stock WASR akm rifle in 7.62x39 imported by Century Arms, customized into a tactical battle rifle, upgraded using some of the best aftermarket parts, accessories, and mods.

The Burris Fastfire II was chosen for its compact size, reliability, durability, and with the Midwest Industries AK-SS Handguard with Optic Specific Top Cover designed to work with the FastFire Red Dot Sight, providing a 1/3 co-witness on the wasr iron sights. This sight with Picatinny Mount is model 300233, and provides a 4 MOA Dot Reticle, with the entire optic weighing 0.9 ounces (25 grams)! It has a target and ambient light sensor built in for automatic adjustment of the dot brightness level, built in battery saver and on/off switch for the (1) CR2032 lithium battery, is waterproof, and impact resistant up to at least 1000 G's.

Overall an excellent compact, lightweight red dot sight that will perform when needed, or be out of the way of my iron sights if not being used or damaged. For the price and size, there really isn't one better!

The Century WASR AK variant was chosen for this “SHTF / go-to-war” ak-47 rifle project due to the budget price, availability of aftermarket and factory repair parts, and out-of-box features… Most notable difference of the WASR rifle compared to other ak variants for features, is that it comes with a hardened chrome-lined barrel and chamber, an intact functional akm bayonet lug, side rail scope mount, tapco g2 trigger group, threaded muzzle with standard 14x1 LH threading for ak47 brakes, decent laminate wood stock and handguard set, cleaning rod attachment, standard akm 1.0mm thick receiver for weight reduction and part fitting, and a reputation for being reliable in adverse conditions.
