New KTM 390 Adventure Rally variant spied testing
KTM spotted testing 390 Adventure Rally variant. It gets a Dakar bike-like front section, TFT screen and handlebar placed higher. KTM is testing what looks like the more hardcore Rally variant of the 390 Adventure. Interestingly, these test mules were sighted on Indian soil and seem to have a couple of changes over the existing model. These revisions are aimed to make it more off-road-centric.
The most prominent change is in the front fascia. The headlamp assembly has been mounted much higher than the iteration on sale. Notably, this resembles the setup we see on KTM’s Dakar Rally motorcycles. There’s a large front cowl with a tall transparent windscreen that looks purposeful. Accordingly, the TFT screen has also been placed much higher and so is the handlebar that looks taller and closer to the rider. As for the cycle parts, the only change evident in the spy shot is the inclusion of knobby tyres. One of the test mules also incorporated a different exhaust can which might be introduced as an optional accessory with the launch of this edition. Meanwhile, the heart of the matter is likely to remain the same. The 390 Adventure is powered by a 373cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that churns out 42.3bhp of power and 37Nm of torque. The suspension, brakes and chassis also appear to have remained unchanged.
The aforementioned updates will most likely bring along a significant hike in the prices of the KTM 390 Adventure which is pegged at Rs 3.28 lakh (ex-showroom) in its existing standard avatar.
