On Wednesday March 24, 2021 The TEA Western Division hosted the first in a series of events about theme park design. Landscape architecture was the logical starting point. It is the first impression guests get as they approach a new attraction. It is the first opportunity to start the story and the experience for the guest. Two of the best in the business, Dan Herman and Maro Urena from Rabben/ Herman design office have been creating immersive environments for themed attractions for decades. While landscape architecture is commonly part of new building construction and design, we discussed what makes this discipline especially exciting and challenging in the themed entertainment industry.
