This Lecture deals with pathophysiology of Happy/Silent Hypoxia. Why “happy hypoxia” or “silent hypoxia” observed in many COVID-19 patients defies all prior presentations of patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome and viral pneumonias. This lecture considers possible reasons why there is an apparent lack of response to clinically severe hypoxia in patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection.
There is an error in calculation in the Alveolar Gas Equation; 760-47 should be 713 not 753 and hence it should be 150-50 = 100mmHg not 108
