Purdue Entomological Research Collection

Описание: Smith Hall, home of ‪@PurdueUniversity‬'s Department of Entomology, is a small brick building, over a century old, tucked behind much younger trees. But inside a hidden, world-renowned gem-a time machine of sorts, and its keeper are surrounded by over one million insect specimens, some dating from nearly 150 years ago.

The Purdue Entomological Research Collection (PERC) contains over 1.3 million prepared specimens, representing approximately 140,000 insect species, and supports research, extension, teaching, and outreach in the Department of Entomology at @PurdueUniversity , midwestern United States, and globally.

With approximately two-thirds of our specimens from Indiana, the PERC is the largest entomological collection in the State and one of the most significant resources for biodiversity research on regional insects and related arthropods.
