I took a train to Gombak, Malaysia to visit KL East Mall for the Xcess Bookstore closing-down sale, where books were advertised from just RM1! I set myself a strict budget of RM5—the same price I used to pay for secondhand books in London. Did I score any amazing deals? Unfortunately… no.
After that fiasco, I headed to KL East Park, looking forward to some nature time at the edge of the Malaysian jungle. But guess what? You can’t buy tickets at the entrance! I was told tickets could only be purchased online and was to wait two hours for the next available slot. I didn’t stick around.
Despite these setbacks, I still enjoyed visiting East KL/Gombak—a place that feels like the gateway to Malaysia’s wilderness. Join me on this adventure, and let’s see if this day was a total fail or still worth the trip!
