After catching the Dallas, Garland and Northeastern Railroad (DGNO) at Forest Avenue, I noticed that they were slowing down significantly. I came over to Tower 118 where I expectedly found them waiting. A UP train snuck onto the Ennis Sub while I was waiting, but before long, the DGNO was underway. As the train inched up to the crossing, a driver decided not to wait for the train and went around the lowered gates. That wouldn't be the last driver who would do such a thing during this incident...

...After the train cleared, the gates took an unusually long amount of time to rise. As soon as they reached the upright position though, the signals reactivated, and the gates lowered again. Cars began driving around the lowered gates in droves, as the crossing reset and activated a second time. Finally, after no less than eight cars swerved around the gates, the signals finally deactivated and stayed off. What a mess.

As for the signals themselves, they are nothing too special. The near signal was installed less than two years prior to this video being taken and features modern Siemens equipment, while the far signal is a Western Cullen Hayes installation from the late 2000s. For whatever reason, the bell on the far mast doesn't activate until the gate begins to lower.
