Tarique Rahman is the son of Ziaur Rahman, who called the formal one of announcer of Bangladesh War of Independence including Commander of BDF Sectors 1 & 11, and Khaleda Zia, former Prime Minister of Bangladesh. He was born on November 20, 1967 in Karachi, Pakistan.[1] He spent most of his life in Dhaka Cantonment.[citation needed]

He attended primary school at BAF Shaheen School and secondary school at Dhaka Residential Model College where he attained the Secondary School Certificate (SSC)[when?].[2] He completed his Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations at the Adamjee Cantonment Public School & College and subsequently got admitted to Dhaka University, where he attended inconsistently and no record of admission, completion the degree in any discipline of the university is available(reference: alumni association, University of dhaka).
