Описание: 🌊 Exploring Cabo de Gata: Lighthouse Views, Mermaid Rocks & Flamingos 🦩

Hola and welcome back! In this video, we head out on another local adventure to the stunning Parque Natural de Cabo de Gata–Níjar, right here on our doorstep in southern Spain.

Our journey takes us along a dramatic, winding coastal road (don’t worry – the footage is sped up!) toward the Cabo de Gata Lighthouse, a place we can actually see flashing from our apartment at night. Although access to the lighthouse itself is restricted, we explore as close as possible, soaking in the breathtaking views from Mirador Las Sirenas.

🧜‍♀️ At the mirador, we learn the fascinating story behind the “Mermaid Rocks”, named after ancient sailors who mistook the calls of monk seals for mythical sirens while navigating these treacherous volcanic waters.

From sheer cliffs and powerful winds to quiet moments of exploration (and the occasional debate about whether to keep walking!), the landscape here never disappoints.

🚗 We then continue on to La Almadraba de Monteleva, a traditional fishing village tied closely to the salt industry. Along the way, we pass the iconic church made famous by the Netflix series Entre Tierras and stop at the Salinas of Cabo de Gata, home to flamingos and many other bird species.

🦩 Binoculars come out, bird hides are explored, and yes… not everyone shares the same enthusiasm for birdwatching!

We finish the video back at home, showing you the distant lighthouse flashing across the night sky — a perfect reminder of just how special this place is.
