TROLLING FOR WESTERN BASIN WALLEYE KELLEYS ISLAND OHIO

Описание: Launched from the mazurik state dock and headed straight out until we were in about 22 fOW. The wind was cranking hard out of the S.W. at about 25 MPH creating some less than desirable conditions to troll in. The marks were heavy the whole pass we were making downwind. The waters color was heavily stained to dang near to muddy to fish. As we were closing in on the mudline the marks pretty much dried up. After about 30 minutes and not one pullback except a white bass, we decided to pack up and head north to kellys.
Ran around the S.E corner and made our way up to airport reef following the 40-42 foot contours. Found a nice pod of fish in that area off airport that we tried to troll for with no luck again. Decided just to keep trolling north and slide back around long point and head straight west. We never really marked that many fish until about midways across Kelly's where we ran into a nice pod of walleye feeding heavily. Had fish on every board within a 5 minute span. Also had some nice tangles with the fiasco.
Ran bandits 40 to 50 back with no weight and 20/20- two ounce worked. At that moment in time it didn't matter what lure you ran cause they were eating everything.
The water temp was 52 .
After the wind decided to give up the lake layed down and made for a perfect sunset.
The run back in was smooth as silk.
