This video is a recap of the kick-off meeting to develop an application profile of the IEEE 2030.5 communication standard to support the Society of Automotive Engineering (SAE) J3072 EV charging standard. The work is a joint effort of SAE and the SunSpec Alliance.
The project is co-led by Rodney McGee, an SAE member who is also a researcher in electric vehicle technology at the University of Delaware, and Gordon Lum, CTO of Kitu Systems, a developer of IEEE 2030.5 solutions and the co-chair of the IEEE 2030.5 technical standard development committee.
This is a unique opportunity for both members and non-members to take a first-hand look at how the SunSpec Alliance works collectively to develop standards for emerging market segments within the Distributed Energy industry.
