Winter has settled deep into the wilderness, and the frozen muskeg has opened new paths for exploration. In this adventure, I take my tracked kei truck far beyond the usual trails to travel across frozen lakes and swamps in the heart of Alaska’s interior.
I spend three days winter camping without a tent, relying on traditional bushcraft skills to build a survival shelter and sleep beneath animal hides. This trip focuses on self-sufficiency, cold-weather survival, and living simply in extreme winter conditions.
Along the way, I prepare meals over an open campfire, experience true off-grid winter life, and complete a small bushcraft blacksmithing project using only fire and basic tools. Every moment of this journey is about adapting to nature and respecting the harsh beauty of the Alaskan wilderness.
