Pakistan delivered a powerful all-round performance to defeat Bangladesh by 128 runs (DLS method) in the 2nd ODI, leveling the series 1-1 and setting up an exciting decider.
Pakistan started brilliantly with a 103-run opening partnership, where Maaz Sadaqat smashed a brilliant 75 off 46 balls, registering his maiden ODI fifty. Later, Salman Ali Agha (64) and Mohammad Rizwan (44) built a strong 109-run partnership to put Pakistan in a commanding position. However, after Agha’s controversial run-out, Pakistan collapsed from 231/3 to 274 all out.
While chasing a revised 243-run target in 32 overs, Bangladesh struggled from the start, losing early wickets and slipping to 27/3. After the rain break, Litton Das (41) and Towhid Hridoy (28) tried to rebuild with a 58-run stand, but Pakistan’s bowlers dominated.
Haris Rauf and Maaz Sadaqat took 3 wickets each, while Shaheen Afridi struck early, bowling Bangladesh out for just 114 runs.
Pakistan’s impressive win also ended their losing streak in Mirpur and forced the series decider.
