Описание: On Tuesday 12/11/2019, Sydney was under Catastrophic Fire conditions. But as Firefighters we don't just respond to fires, in fact we respond to a vast array of different emergencies. At 1805hrs Burwood Fire Station responded to a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle on Parramatta Rd, North Strathfield. The car had mounted the kerb colliding with the man, sending him airborne and into a canal. Whilst NSW Ambulance attended to the patients injuries, Crews from Fire and Rescue NSW Station 017 Drummoyne assisted Burwood’s Rescue Crew with a Ladder Slide due to access issues. A Ladder Slide is where the patient is packaged in a Stokes (Stretcher) and with the use of a Cordage System (3 to 1 Mechanical Advantage) the patient was hauled up the ladder and out of the causeway.
