3. SOUNDBITE (English) Ali Asghar Soltanieh, Iranian ambassador to International Atomic Energy Agency:
"Our high officials have already said any resolution uniting the Security Council will have appropriate reciprocal measures by Iran. As far as we are concerned with the agency and in spite of the past resolutions, Iranian government showed utmost restraint and cooperation and in spite of that, we in fact concluded and work on the work plan. This is a policy to continue. But of course the expectation is that we will prevent and show vigilance not to let the agency and Vienna to be politicised and to bring unjustified instrumentational use of the United Nations Security Council here."

5. SOUNDBITE (English) Ali Asghar Soltanieh, Iranian ambassador to International Atomic Energy Agency:
"The United Nation Security Council resolutions, each of them are arrows aiming at the heart of the agency and the resolutions will undoubtedly will weaken the authority of the agency and its credibility and independent role of the agency, therefore the advice is not to make another mistake because this is the fact that now we are witnessing that if you see the draft of the resolution they have not even (inaudible) the report of the director general. It means they don't care what is happening in the IAEA, they have some political motivation ... and maybe you can say this is a hidden agenda those who are insisting on the resolutions."

7. SOUNDBITE (English) Ali Asghar Soltanieh, Iranian ambassador to International Atomic Energy Agency:
"When the director general was going to report a progress, a couple of days before the Americans brought new allegations about a new military sites or so and took a lot of energy and time of the members of state and then the agency found out and reflected in their report, you can see, that they said they have found no evidence of diversion or even no nuclear material in the size that the Americans were giving the allegations, even the size. Now they are giving allegations about some print out of a laptop without authenticity and this is of course shown that these allegations are with political motivation."

STORYLINE
Iran's chief IAEA representative on Monday said a UN Security Council resolution over Iran's nuclear programme would weaken the authority and the credibility of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
They are "arrows aiming at the heart of the agency", Ali Ashgar Soltanieh told reporters in Vienna after a meeting of the IAEA.
The IAEA board met in Vienna to focus on Iran's defiance of UN Security Council demands to freeze uranium enrichment.
As the 35-nation-board met in Vienna, the UN Security Council scheduled a session expected to agree on a third set of sanctions to punish Iran for ignoring its demand to freeze enrichment, a potential component of a nuclear weapons programme.
Soltanieh warned that any resolution regarding Tehran's nuclear ambitions that would "unite the Security Council will have the appropriate reciprocal measures by Iran".
The board was also looking at an IAEA report that said Iran had cleared up some questions about its nuclear past, but that it refused to discuss the topic of its alleged weapons development activities beyond dismissing them as groundless accusations.
