At one point in my career, I got an offer I genuinely couldn’t refuse.
I joined an incredible team and worked with around thirty companies - architects, engineers, contractors, and the owner - all in the same room, aligned around a single goal. Together, we implemented what was, at the time, a world-class process for one of the largest owners in the world.
We mapped roles and responsibilities, defined what would be delivered and when, and built trackers to connect it all. Everything was linked. Everything was online. And honestly, at first, it felt great.
It was like tasting a really good plate of spaghetti.
But over time, we realised what we’d actually created was spreadsheet spaghetti. A complex, fragile system that needed a full-time administrator just to keep it running.
That was the moment we knew there had to be a better way.
