I used a high price ($50) piece of plywood form Lowes.
I had a few projects I wanted to use with it to offset the cost of the wood itself.
In the video I am essentially tracing the dimensions with my saw and using the original deck as a pilot for new holes.
It is important to understand how to get precision so that everything lines up correctly to reduces excessive wear, tear, and squeaking.
