The Gothic language = this video presents a summary of the history of the East Germanic Gothic people and of the grammar of its archaic and interesting but extinct Germanic language.
Gothic is known from fragments of the Ulfila Bible translated into Gothic around the year 360 aC.
It is the oldest and most archaic of the well known Germanic languages, preceding Old Norse and Anglo-Saxon by a few centuries. Gothic preserves the old Indo European dual number in its verbal system and pronouns, as well as reduplicating verbs to form the past tense of verbs.
