This exclusive ground report by journalist Kiranjit Kaur Kang brings forward a disturbing and largely ignored reality linked to the Russia–Ukraine conflict. The video investigates how innocent Indian citizens, mainly from Punjab, are being misled by travel agents and illegal recruiters with promises of jobs abroad, and later pushed into the Russian army to fight on the zero line against Ukraine.

The report focuses on the tragic case of Mandeep Kumar of Goraya, Punjab, who was promised migration to Italy after paying more than ₹35 lakh to agents. Instead, he was taken to Moscow, abandoned without food or support, and forcibly recruited into the Russian military. His brother Jagdeep Kumar travelled twice to Russia in search of him and made desperate efforts to bring him back home. The struggle ended when Mandeep lost his life on the warfront and his body was returned to India.

After the arrival of the body, the family has refused to conduct the last rites and announced that cremation will not take place until the agents responsible are arrested. At least eight travel agents were booked by the Goraya police in July, but no arrests have been made so far. The family alleges continuous harassment by Punjab Police for two years and claims that bribes were demanded repeatedly.

The video also documents the tense moment when MP Balbir Singh Seechewal and SSP Virk from Jalandhar visited the family. Relatives confronted the police and Jagdeep Kumar openly questioned both the authorities and the political leadership, demanding justice, honor, and strict action against the scammers.
